Bedroom Painting
Bedroom Painters in Somerville & Greater Boston
The room people take the biggest color risks in — deep navies, teals, dusty pinks — painted evenly, with sharp lines against white trim.

Where the color risks are taken
Bedrooms are where people are bravest with color. Living rooms stay neutral for guests; bedrooms get the deep navy, the teal, the dusty rose. The photographs on this page show all three.
Strong colors are beautiful when they are even and unforgiving when they are not. They show roller marks, patchy coverage and every wobble in a cut line, so they take more coats and more care than a pale color.
The details close to the eye
A bedroom is seen up close every day, from the bed, in morning light. That puts the detail work front and center:
- The ceiling line. A dark wall against a white ceiling is cut by hand, and there is nowhere for an uneven edge to hide.
- The trim. White casings and baseboards against a strong wall color need a clean, straight line all the way round.
- The accent wall. Where one wall is a different color, the corner where it stops has to be dead straight.
Working around the room
Bedrooms are lived in. Beds, dressers and wardrobes rarely leave the room, so the work starts by moving everything to the middle and covering it properly — and ends with the room usable again by night.
Two of our reviewers had bedrooms done: one had three painted together, another had two bedrooms and an office finished in a day and a half. Their words are below, copied exactly from Google.
The bedrooms on this page
The photographs are Cayo’s own, from bedrooms in Newton, Dorchester and Roxbury and others where he did not record the town. The Dorchester before-and-after shows a room with the furniture sheeted up mid-job, then finished in deep charcoal.

Reviews
What customers said
…From the beginning, their preparation work was excellent and showed their attention to detail. They worked clean, protected everything properly, and left the rooms spotless when they were finished. The paint lines are sharp, the finish looks fantastic…
…He painted two bedrooms and an office, recommending higher quality, less expensive paint than the brand I'd selected and explaining why, while making sure the colors matched what I wanted. He then completed the job in 1.5 days…
Questions
Bedroom Painting — common questions
Can you paint a bedroom in a dark color?
Yes — several bedrooms on this page are deep navy, teal or charcoal. Dark colors show every roller mark and uneven edge, and they usually need more coats to reach a solid, even finish. They take longer than pale ones, and the estimate allows for it.
Can you paint just one accent wall?
Yes. An accent wall is a small job with one critical detail — the corner where the strong color stops. That line has to be dead straight, top to bottom.
Do we have to empty the room?
No. Furniture is usually moved to the middle of the room and covered, and the walls are painted around it. Small items, pictures and anything fragile are best put away before the job starts.
How many bedrooms can you do at once?
It depends on the house and how you need to live in it. One reviewer had two bedrooms and an office done in a day and a half; another had three bedrooms done together. If you need somewhere to sleep, rooms can be done in stages.
Do you paint bedrooms outside Somerville?
Yes. The bedrooms on this page include jobs in Newton, Dorchester and Roxbury. We work across Greater Boston, the North Shore and the South Shore.
